Collaborated on stories about Clean Air Act violators for a Center for Public Integrity series, juvenile justice, public corruption and a Massachusetts tax system that favors wealthy boat owners. Created and analyzed Excel spreadsheets. Filed and appealed FOIA requests. Found documents and sources and scrubbed topics to ensure  originality of reporting.

Covered a 14,000-plus students school district integrating more than 40 years after Brown. Wrote about the school board violating the open meetings law which led the district attorney to issue a citation. Also covered general assignment stories, hurricanes Gustav and Rita, Gov. Started as an intern, hired as a full-time reporter. Covered city hall and breaking news for a 114,00 municipality. My story about the city council spending $5,461 in taxpayers’ monies to buy personal Mardi Gras beads ran above the fold on the front page.

Produced a multimedia story about President Barack Obama’s visit to TechBoston High School (WEBN-TV contributor). Co-produced, wrote and edited three mini-documentaries. Created two interactive stories for an iPad magazine. Wrote two sidebars, took photos and created graphics for a journalism textbook. Also worked as a journalism writing tutor.
